Smart Battery
An advanced methodology is developed to effectively coordinate the operation of battery module at the cell level and minimize the impact of cell balancing on pack life, safety, and performance. To this end, a new concept called Smart Battery is proposed, which incorporates intelligence and cutting-edge semiconductor technology to provide self-healing and reconfiguration capabilities for each battery module at the cell level. Self-healing feature is obtained by continuously monitoring the state of the health related parameters for each cell, and actively responding to any abnormality via automated fast acting, high power internal micro switches.
